5 inch gauge Rail Motor 0-6-0

We sold this one last year, it's recently come back as a part exchange against a "Maid of Kent" in "barn find" condition. Exactly the same condition as before - pictures opposite and words below from last time it was here.

An older 5 inch gauge "Rail Motor", the work of one of the most prolific engineers we've encountered - by day he worked for ERF commercial vehicles whilst in his spare time building, by our estimation, at least two dozen locomotives, several of which we've sold in the past.

Whilst often building rare prototypes, in this case he's worked out a variation of Don Young's "Rail Motor", executed as an 0-6-0 rather than 0-4-0.

Boiler has had a twice working pressure hydraulic test and looks sound, the chassis runs on air.

Complete with a two-wheeled tender arrangement, which looks like a cross between a shepherd's hut and a bad accident involving a Victorian third class carriage.

The large, heavy looking lump attached to the drag beam is lead ballast.
