7 1/4 inch gauge RMI Speeder tram and driving truck

A 7 1/4 inch gauge RMI Railworks "Speeder" tram with driving truck. Supplied new to a private railway in the Midlands, it passed to the owner's club when the railway was taken up some years ago.

Powered by two 1/2Hp 24 volt motors with four batteries, two each in the locomotive and driving truck. The pair in the locomotive are mounted in a cassette with quick detach plug - a neat design.

The vacuum brake pump is mounted at the back of the locomotive, with the control unit and vacuum switch mounted in the driving truck. 

Ancillaries include a fore and aft running light, single tone horn and a pedal-operated bell.

The canopy - a later addition - can be easily removed if required.

A well designed and robustly constructed locomotive - easy to maintain and operate, it would be ideal to provide instant motive power for a garden railway.
