7 1/4" Hunslet 0-4-0ST with tender

A 4 inch scale 7 1/4 inch gauge Hunslet 0-4-0ST with ride-in tender, an engine we sold back at the beginning of 2015.

Since last here it's been repainted in an attractive 1970s era Ffestiniog green with red lining and had some rearrangement of the backhead fittings, with nicer steam valves and gauge protectors fitted.

The engine has been in use until recently when it developed various leaks around the firebox. Under hydraulic test it shows several leaking stays, internal inspection shows a build up of sediment in the water legs - narrow at the best of times in this design.

Whilst it may be possible to salvage the boiler by fitting a new firebox, a new boiler would be worth considering - the uplift in value would cover its cost.
