7 1/4 inch gauge 14XX 0-4-2T

A 7 1/4 inch gauge GWR 14XX 0-4-2T, a running engine built to a fairly pedestrian standard, although "offering scope for improvement" as our estate agent friends would say*.

The boiler has had recent hydraulic and steam tests with new certification issued. The engine is fitted with one injector, piped up for water feed from the previous owner's driving truck, which also featured two pumps piped direct through to the clack valves. It will require either a similarly equipped truck or, alternatively, the installation of a hand pump and/or second injector on the engine itself, with new pipework for the currently unused water tanks.

The chassis rolls freely and runs with even beats in forward gear, slightly off in reverse, with some blow by noted.

Paintwork is grim - thickly hand applied in various shades of green, with dribbles evident.

* for the avoidance of doubt, that was a joke. We don't number any estate agents among our friends...
