7 1/4 inch gauge AME Neptune 4

We sold this back in October last year. Now fitted with a pair of brand new batteries, it's been used once in the intervening six months - it remains in fine condition throughout.

A 7 1/4 inch gauge AME "Neptune 4" battery electric, a powerful twin bogie locomotive equally at home at the club, or on more challenging, tighter radius garden railways. In excellent condition, having apparently had little use from new, it's recently come to us in part exchange for a "Stafford".

The locomotive weighs a little over two hundredweight without batteries, nearly double that when ready to run, providing useful adhesive weight to take full advantage of its four 24 volt motors - AME rate it as capable of hauling 10 to 15 passengers plus the driver.

Cleverly designed, it breaks down quickly for transport into its component parts - bogies, body, chassis and batteries - each of which is an easy one-person lift.

Fitted with a 4QD Pro-160 motor controller with remote handset, dual horns and sound card.

The locomotive has two bodies in different liveries, it's a two minute job to swap them over. It requires a pair of batteries - AME's recommended type, as fitted to mobility scooters and golf trolleys, are available from Advanced Battery Supplies.
