7 1/4 inch gauge battery-electric Class 08 shunter

I think "in the style of" a Class 08 is probably a better description than an accurate scale model, but it is obvious what the builder had in mind when he set out to make this large 7 1/4 inch gauge battery-electric.

The locomotive is built on a steel chassis with axles running on roller bearings. Drive is by a motor on each axle with a commercially-produced controller, a pair of car batteries provide the go - one is good, the other getting tired. Control is by a remote handset, giving forward/reverse and speed control, there is a master isolator switch with key.
