7 1/4 inch gauge BR Class 20 Bo-Bo

A finely built 7 1/4 inch gauge Class 20 diesel, scratch built to the builder's own design, based on research of the full-sized locomotives.

Highly detailed, with working lights front and rear, working windscreen wipers and vacuum brakes. The bogies are powered by 12 volt motors, driven from four batteries carried in the body, giving a good deal of power combined with substantial adhesive weight.

On completion the model was exhibited at the Model Engineer Exhibition in 2014, where it was awarded a Silver Medal - now mounted in a machined recess in the removable front fascia of the locomotive.

It appeared on the cover and featured in a two part article in the "Model Engineer" magazine, November/December 2014 with a comprehensive description of its development.
