7 1/4 inch gauge BR Standard Class 2 2-6-2T

A 7 1/4 inch gauge BR Standard Class 2 tank; built in 1993 it was featured in the 7 1/4 inch gauge society journal in 2006 when attending a rally with classmate 84029.

We first saw the engine running at an Echills Wood Standard Gauge gala some years ago (I think that it was the year that we took Ron Martin's fabulous 9F) - at the time it had recently had a new firebox and set of tubes.

The engine has been unused since 2017 when it was stripped to have the cylinders honed and new pistons fitted - the honing was done professionally, new pistons were still on the job list when the work stalled.

The boiler has a good deal of historic paperwork with it, both from its original club and the last owner's, the last test expiring in 2018.

We've done a preliminary hydraulic test which showed no signs of leaks or distortion, we would warranty as sound. It looks to be in good condition, although will need to be lifted from the frames for a cladding off inspection before certification.
