7 1/4 inch gauge "Bridget" 0-4-2T

A 7 1/4 inch gauge "Bridget" built to Ken Swan's popular design, a well-built locomotive fitted with a new commercially-built boiler in 2016 since when it has had little use.

The locomotive was originally built around 25 years ago and was sold - still unsteamed from new - in 2013 to a gentleman who had it commissioned, following which it was used until 2015 at his local club.

In 2016 a leak was discovered on the front tubeplate of the original boiler, whereupon a new TIG-welded copper boiler was ordered from Steam Technology and fitted by a fellow club member, a highly capable model engineer.

Following reassembly the engine had occasional use until the end of 2019. With the arrival of COVID the following year it was put into storage and had not been steamed since then when it arrived with us.

The engine is in good condition throughout, with a boiler that has been steamed on a handful of occasions from new. On test it steamed freely and ran well, there's some video of it on our YouTube channel here.
