7 1/4 inch gauge GWR 11XX 0-4-0T

A well built GWR 11XX dock tank to George Gentry's "Midge" design, published in "Model Engineer" magazine in 1935.

Based on the dock shunters built by Avonside for the GWR in 1926, it makes a compact, powerful engine in 7 1/4 inch gauge with generous bearing surfaces and robustly proportioned valve gear.

The engine came to us earlier in the year with several other locomotives in exchange for a large narrow gauge engine.

It runs well, boiler has had recent test with certification for same. Machining of motionwork and valve gear is very crisp, fit and finish good throughout.
