A well built model of Aspinall's elegant Atlantic for the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway. Forty were built between 1899 and 1902, so you have the choice of calling it a Victorian or Edwardian design - to my eye more Elgar than Sullivan, I'd favour the latter.
The engine is in good order throughout - paintwork is in super condition, it runs very well, with the typical smooth gait of an inside cylinder locomotive.
Welded steel boiler with expanded copper tubes, 80psi working pressure, twin Ramsbottom type safety valves, feed by twin injectors. Cast iron cylinders with slide valves actuated by Joy gear with screw reverser in the cab. Mechanical lubricator.
