7 1/4 inch gauge petrol hydraulic shunter

A 7 1/4 inch narrow gauge Planet petrol-hydraulic shunter, with a single cylinder electric start four stroke engine coupled to one of the ever-popular Eaton continuously variable transmission, with chain drive to both wheelsets.

We like the authentic, massive cast buffer beams and "working clothes" condition, typical of these small, hard-working narrow gauge locomotives back in the day.

It starts easily and runs well in both directions. Its all-up weight of just over three hundredweight combined with the power and gearing of the drive train making for a very capable locomotive, either for the garden railway or instant motive power at the club.
