7 1/4 inch gauge "Sweet William" 0-4-0ST with tender

A 7 1/4 inch gauge "Sweet William" 0-4-0ST with ride in tender, a well-built locomotive in good condition, it steams freely and runs particularly well.

Commercially built steel boiler with expanded tubes running at 120psi working pressure - it's had recent hydraulic and steam tests with certification issued for same. There is a quantity of historic club certification with the engine.

The backhead is nicely detailed and well laid out, with commercial steam valves, twin three cock water gauges and spun brass cleading strip around the backhead. There is a four note chime whistle mounted on the spectacle plate.

The engine is fitted with vacuum brake equipment - steam valve, ejector and driver's brake valve - with a gauge mounted on the tender.

Substantial steel "dumb buffers" have been fitted at the front, aiding weight distribution and adhesion; there are check chains fitted between locomotive and tender.

Only thing we couldn't live with when it arrived was a regulator which required Charles Atlas biceps to work. We've machined up new internals, it now has a carbon filled PTFE disc with slot and tenon drive from the regulator spindle - silky smooth in operation, it's a delight to use.
