7 1/4 inch narrow gauge tram

A 7 1/4 inch narrow gauge battery electric tram, robustly built with all steel chassis and superstructure, weighing in at nearly six hundredweight ready to run.

Running gear is based on a pair of commercial powered bogies by Ride on Railways, each EN8 wheelset driven by a pair of 24 volt 150W motors, total of four motors per bogie, with 140 amp iDrive controller.

Fitted with three batteries, each with quick fit connectors, two for the motors and the third to provide a 12 volt supply for headlight, running lights and two tone horns.

The dashboard is fitted with ammeter and voltmeters, switches for lights, direction and a speed controller knob. There is a standard colour bar type indicator to show battery condition.

The tram is in excellent condition and runs well, the iDrive controller providing powerful, sensitive regenerative braking.

It's possessed of an alarming turn of speed - RoR quote as 10-11mph, although it feels about twice that if you're driving and sufficient to get you into trouble in corners if not used with care.

Comfortably seats one, it can accommodate a close friend as well at a push.
