Antique twin cylinder engine with governor

class="MsoNormal">An old model of a twin cylinder mill engine, constructed largely in brass with fish-bellied steel connecting rods and 7 inch diameter iron flywheel.

Probably constructed in the latter part of the nineteenth century, the engine is mounted on raised platform with guard rails around the overhung big ends, which are gibbed and cottered. The engine is nicely detailed and proportioned.

At some time in its history, the original steam feeds into the valve chest covers have been blanked off and a pair of feeds tee-ed into the ends of the valve chests rather clumsily. It would be a relatively simple matter to revert to the original pattern.

Bore and stroke 1 (approx) x 2
Base 12 x 10 inches
Flywheel 7 inch diameter
