Deagostini electric Japanese D51 2-8-2

A 45mm gauge 1:24 scale JNR D51 2-8-2, built from a kit supplied in exactly one hundred monthly magazine instalments by Italian collectibles specialists and publishers DeAgostini.

A novel way of building a locomotive, it's complete with a rolling road which contains the four AA batteries required to power the single motorised axle, sound card front lamp and firebox LED fire effect.

Complete with original documentation, DVD, and builder's notes. Finished in 2016, he logged 148 hours on the project - in an era of instant gratification and the ever-increasing price of a day out, it sounds like a nice way to spend a winter indoors!

Complete with display stand and Perspex case, collection from the works would be preferred.
