Double diagonal engine

A well made model of the double diagonal steam engine built by Langbridge & Co of Accrington, preserved at the Bolton Steam Museum (which is well worth a visit if you haven't been yet).

The work of an experienced model engineer, this one has recently come in as part of a larger collection of his engines.

An imposing size engine, it turns over freely and runs well on air, with slight wear evident in main bearings and one crosshead.

Complete with purpose built wooden box.
