Galloway non-dead centre engine

A finely made model of Galloway's non-dead centre engine, a nineteenth century design attempting (with some success, technically if not commercially) to produce a self-starting engine with a single crank. Fascinating to watch working, although you can see why it wasn't universally adopted - it looks to be one of those magnificent solutions searching for a problem.
