Large beam engine

A large model beam engine, having something of a vintage look about it, well-built and nicely detailed - an accurately observed model of a typical mid-nineteenth century engine.

We like the decoratively turned Watt's linkage and the gibbed and cottered bearings. A well-proportioned model, weighing in at close to half a hundredweight on its wooden base.

Turns over freely and runs well down to low speed on air. There is some wear evident in the bushes with slightly knocking when running.
