Large beam engine

A large beam engine, approaching a Stuart "Major" in size and weight.

This one's come to us alongside several other models from a long-time customer and collector of stationary engines in Shropshire. Unused in his ownership, it's been on display in a third-storey home office.

The flywheel is drilled for grub screws or pins, however the crank shaft has not been similarly marked and there are no pins present.

With the wheel fixed temporarily in place it ran well on air down to low speeds - there's some video of it on our YouTube channel below.
