Marshall vertical engine

An exceptionally well made vertical engine - it's one I'm pretty sure we've sold in the past, but more than twenty-five years ago; it doesn't appear anywhere in the archive.

Distinctive for its elegant tapered hardwood base and nickel-plated motion and pipework, the fit and finish of machined parts is excellent.

It bears a small "Marshall" makers plate, although the full-size Marshall stationary engines we've had in the past all had trunk guides rather than a crosshead running in single-sided guides.

The engine has been on display for many years - it turns over freely although doesn't currently run on air.
