Part-built 7 1/4 inch gauge "Britannia"

Around two hundred pounds of iron and gunmetal castings, a set of machined gunmetal cylinders and erected locomotive and tender frames for a 7 1/4 inch gauge "Britannia".

Work to date is to a good standard, the frames are complex and built closely following full-size practice. Castings include most of the big lumps including driving, front bogie and tender wheels, smokebox door and ring, chimney and dome, springs, cylinders, grate, motion bracket. The smokebox saddle and exhaust pipes are fabricated into the chassis, frames are drilled ready for fitting the cylinders.
