Single cylinder diesel engine

A single cylinder Kubota diesel engine, acquired by its previous owner for a 7 1/4 inch narrow gauge diesel shunter project. The project eventually went all electric, so the engine became surplus to requirements.

It's a compact, lightweight engine - oil-cooled, rated by the manufacturer at 5.6bhp at 3600rpm. Fitted with 12 volt electric start, the engine has a balance shaft to reduce vibration.

Turns over freely with valve lifter engaged, good compression when released.
