A small scratch-built piston valve beam engine, fabricated largely from brass. Wooden beam, Watt's parallel motion, it turns over freely and will run on a breath of air - literally, you can push a piece of rubber pipe onto the steam inlet and just blow to set it running.
A nice addition to any desk (mine, at the moment).
