A partly assembled Steam Traction World "Lykamobile", a late model, series 2 car with vertical multitube boiler, bought new in 2019.
This one has come to us from a long time customer and erstwhile "Stafford" owner. Shortly after starting the project, an operation requiring a 12 month convalescence caused a major rethink regarding the practicality of working on a machine of this size.
Now concentrating on his 5 inch gauge locomotives - he bought a B1 from us some years ago which is run regularly at the club, with a Metre Maid nearing completion in the workshop - he decided that time had come to pass on the steam car to a new owner.
Work to date comprises a rolling chassis, with boiler installed and engine partly assembled. There are several boxes of parts to complete the build, with the later kits still in their factory sealed cartons, unopened before arriving with us. Assembly instructions, drawings and boiler documentation are in a folder with the project.
We've sold several of these Lykamobiles over the years and have always been impressed with their performance - there are pictures and videos in the archive.
Current price new is £20,169 with a waiting list to order -
