Stuart 5A with reversing gear

A Stuart 5A vertical engine, one of the largest in their range, rated at 1 1/2 bhp at 800rpm running on 100psi.

This engine has come from a collection of stationary engines and locomotives which came in recently. Kept for display, it's stiff to turn over, we suspect from lack of lubrication and little, if any running from new.

Machining is to a good standard, the engine is nicely painted and mounted on a finely made wooden base.

Complete with the optional Stephensons reversing gear - which requires a sheared pin replacing - and cylinder drain cocks.
