Large rotative steam pump

An interesting rotative steam pump, built in the 1960s by a time-served engineer, at that time working on restoration of steam boats including the Umpire steam launches "Eva" (now in the River & Rowing Museum, Henly) and "Consuta".

Constructed using some Stuart components - the "S" on the valve chest cover a bit of a giveaway, we suspect the cylinder may be from the same supplier - the rest of the pump built to a design and from castings we haven't seen before, with Scotch crank and large solid flywheel.

Obviously inspired by the type of pump built for vertical mounting on a wall - typically in a ship - it would equally well do service on the side of a large locomotive or traction engine.

Turns over freely and runs very well on air down to low speed.
