Stuart "Major" Beam engine

A well-advanced Stuart "Major" beam engine, a large and impressively proportioned engine.

Work to date on this one is to a good standard and comprises machined base, column, beam, cylinder, flywheel, connecting rod and crank. Work remaining includes piston and rod, valve ditto and the Watt's parallel motion - all can be made from stock material.

Quite rare, we see one of these every year or two - sold an exceptionally good one back in 2014, there are some pictures and a write up in the archive here if you need some inspiration to get started.

Mounted on a very scrappy piece of board - we'll remove this for ease of packing unless you would desperately like to have it, if so let us know.
