Triple expansion engine with Stephensons reversing gear

A scratch-built triple expansion engine, one of a small collection which has lain in the late builder's attic for the last 25 years.

A remarkable man who spent his working life as a lorry driver, in his spare time he built a wide range of models including large scale model boats and stationary engines.

The engine is complete and turns over - somewhat stiffly although without tight spots. It needs stripping, cleaning and lubricating before reassembly after its many years in storage.
