A 1 inch scale Foster Showmans Road Locomotive, a beautifully made old model bearing hand scribed builder's plates "S.Breedon Maker 1938 Sheffield".
In its original paintwork, much aged but with fabulous patina; it's an engine simply to put on a bookcase and admire, requiring conservation rather than any kind of restoration.
Motionwork turns over freely - we have no doubt it would run on air but, in deference to its age and condition, have made no attempt to test the engine. After 83 years, it deserves a quiet retirement!
