Vintage compound twin with reversing gear

An old compound vertical engine with Stephenson's reversing gear - proportions, construction and fasteners used suggest pre-war, possibly 1920s/30s.

Dry, stiff to turn over, with much wear throughout - it needs complete restoration.

A worthwhile project - larger than most engines of this type we get in, well proportioned and nicely detailed with taper-pinned motionwork, double-nutted bearing caps and chamfered valve spindle clevises.
