Vintage horizontal engine

A vintage horizonal engine, from its design we'd put this one at late nineteenth or early twentieth century.

The engine turns over freely and runs on air, with play evident in the motionwork (after 100 years we'd be amazed if there wasn't any!).

The flycrank runs out slightly, there is wear between crosshead and guidebars.

Nicely proportioned and finished, on turned pillars and polished wood base with fine patina.
