7 1/4 inch gauge narrow gauge 0-4-2T

A 7 1/4 inch narrow gauge 0-4-2 locomotive of freelance design, it came in last year as part exchange for a larger locomotive.

Bottom end is "Sweet Pea" derived, the cast iron cylinders having slide valves actuated by Hackworth gear; boiler is a locomotive type with feed by injector, axle and hand pumps.

The engine is complete with a bogie tender with upholstered seat.

Te engine runs in reverse, not forwards - it requires a variety a jobs attending to, including:

• refacing slide valves
• replacement O-ring in the hand pump
• attention to mechanical brake on locomotives
• rebushing motion work
• straightening/replacing a bent weighshaft
• connecting drain cock linkage
